Producing a 3-D skull, building card houses with only one hand, speaking in Korean, doing single-whip tai-chi moves, watching Matthew Johnstone’s “Living with a Black Dog” video, dissecting the AIS Vision and Mission, developing assessment rubrics - What do these things have in common?
They are all part of the recent AIS Annual 2019 Teacher Conference! The school has just conducted a successful 2-day teacher conference with keynote speakers Dr. Roderick Crouch Principal AIS Vietnam and Andrea Corston from Australia. Dozens of exciting topics and workshops were provided. During the fun & insightful sessions, teachers from AIS Jakarta & Bali gathered, shared, and learned what’s relevant and effective in teaching today.
Developed by teachers for teachers, this conference was a celebration of a shared interest : our students’ well-being and development. We believe that only when our teachers enrich themselves professionally will they be able to continually make relevant, meaningful impact on student learning. And so through every serious, and not-so-serious, discussions, AIS teachers gained skills and knowledge in the best way possible, first-hand learning. Our academic team is one of the school’s greatest assets, and we applaud all their participation in making this year’s conference a success.
