Our Year 6 primary students were excited to visit the Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre in Bogor yesterday. The CRLC is one of our school’s community partners and we have developed a great relationship between the two schools over the last few years.
Students joined CRLC classes, played games and interviewed each other. Year 6 have been learning about migration so the visit was a wonderful chance to hear first hand refugee stories. We tried some delicious Afghani bread and the students had a great time playing tag, football and chatting during break time. During the visit, school captains Mia and Jack presented Mr Khalil, the manager of CRLC with a donation of Rp. 6,850,000 . This money was raised on International Women’s Day and will be used for the CRLC women’s classes.
We are looking forward to welcoming the CRLC students to AIS for our AIS Idols night where a group of students will treat us to a traditional dance.
