At AIS Pejaten Campus, our students and staff work together in an atmosphere of trust and respect; where each student is able to flourish holistically as a life-long learner and be an active participant in the many different dimensions of our school community. We strive to incorporate world’s best practice, creating warm, stimulating and diverse learning environments that enable students to achieve their personal best – in terms of academic development, as well deeper, personal and social success.
Our engaging and reflective learning environment fosters the continued development of our students as enthusiastic, active participants in their own learning. We promote academic excellence, responsibility, and global citizenship in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, providing students with a global perspective on life.
The inclusive nature of our school is reflected in the strong community spirit which is a cornerstone of our philosophy. Concern for student well-being is the highest priority. All our students are regularly engaged in Social and Emotional Thinking to empower them to meet the social-emotional challenges relevant to young people both today and into the future. Our class sizes are kept small allowing teaching staff to be accessible to students and parents, and responsive to individual needs and concerns.
An important part of our school culture is our wide range of Creativity, Activity and Service Learning (CAS) activities involving all students from Years 7-12. By embracing authentic learning opportunities, students, parents and teachers will often be seen working together and collaborating on a variety of NGO and community projects. This leads to student learning in areas of project management, issues education, collaboration strategies, and complex critical thinking – all important 21st Century skills and increasingly sought after by employers and leading universities.
We implement the Australian curriculum from Years 7 to 10 as prescribed by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA – see www.acara.edu.au). In the senior years (Years 11 & 12) our students have an option to study for the IB Diploma, or a hybrid program combining some IB subjects with School Based Subjects. Our graduates have successfully progressed to tertiary studies in countries all over the world, including Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Europe, North America, Indonesia, Korea, Japan and Singapore.
We are an accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and an authorized IB World School.
AIS Indonesia is an inclusive school; students experiencing learning difficulties are an integral part of our school community. The integration of these students wherever possible into our mainstream classes develops their self-esteem and promotes the acceptance of diversity by all of our students.
Prospective students and their parents who seek a quality education in a warm, welcoming environment are invited to come and see why our students enjoy attending AIS, and why our staff are so proud of their school. I look forward to welcoming you to AIS - Pejaten Campus and the opportunity to share further insights about our wonderful small school here in Jakarta.
