Dear Parents and Friends,
With the countdown to the end of the school year fast approaching we have many things that we are finalising for the start of a new school year in Jakarta in 2021.
This afternoon four ministries jointly announced via video conference the updated requirements for schools to reopen in January 2021. We will analyse the information shared and look at the logistics of reopening face-to-face teaching in our new school year. All in all, it is looking very promising and we are excited by the prospect of starting face to face classes on our new campus toward the end of January. We will update you as further information comes to hand. We will of course continue to provide online learning for those families who are unable or do not wish to attend campus in Semester 1. More information on our transition to the new campus will come from AIS leadership in the coming weeks. Be sure to note we certainly have an action plan for this transition to happen seamlessly and effectively.
Starting next week, we will also commence small study groups on each campus. Further information has been shared with families who have expressed interest in joining these study groups and we look forward to welcoming those students back onto our campuses. Of course, online learning remains in place for students unable to participate in these study groups.
Should you wish your child to join the study groups in the future, please contact your campus principal, as certain requirements, including available seats, must be me in place before students can join and this will typically take several days to organise.
Finally, in last week’s Bytes we shared the Academic Calendar for 2021. In case you missed this, it is now on our website: Academic Calendar 2021.
Take care and keep well,
Ms. Jodi and Mr. Henri
